Lesson 6: Strings D, A, and E (The Top Set) Alright these are the next three strings, the top set. Starting with D (third from the top)
The second string from the top is A.
The last string we'll go over in this lesson is the low sounding, fat E string. The notes are exactly the same as the high e string, just two octaves below.
The best way to learn to read music is by simply attaching a line or space on the staff to the position in your mind without thinking more about it, however there are some catch phrases to help you remember. Try this song, if your a fan of metallica you'll recognize it!
The notes on the lines, marked with small green dots underneath them, are E, G, B, D, and F. A common phrase used to remember this is:
The spaces represent the notes: F, A, C, and E, spelling "F A C E."
